What we do is make sure the books feeding into that return are reconciled, adjusted, and organized before your preparers open the file, so tax season time goes into technical judgment calls, not chasing down unreconciled accounts or missing depreciation schedules.
Firms use this in two ways: as a year-end add-on for clients already on one of our monthly bookkeeping plans (the smoothest option, since the books are already clean going into year-end), or as a standalone engagement for clients who do their own bookkeeping year-round but need workpapers organized before filing.
We're trained in both US GAAP and Canadian ASPE, and understand the specific workpaper conventions tax preparers expect on each side of the border — including CRA remittance schedules and provincial considerations for Canadian entities.
