We quote catch-up engagements on a fixed fee basis after a short scoping call, so there are no surprises once work begins.
We start by reviewing what exists — historical bank feeds, whatever partial books are available — and build a scope of work before touching a single transaction. Reconstruction is done period by period, reconciled as we go, so if you need to see progress partway through, the file is always in a coherent, defensible state rather than a half-finished mess.
Every adjustment we make to prior-period figures is logged and explained. You get a clear audit trail, not just a clean-looking result you have to take on faith.
Most catch-up engagements transition directly into one of our standard monthly plans once the books are current — so the client moves from "years behind" to "on a 5-day close cycle" without a gap.
